Setbacks.

She seems unable to cope with stimulation while awake. Her heart has fibrillated about 15 times in the last hour. They have sedated her again to prevent the fibrillations from recurring.

The hope is that with enough rest, her heart can relax and the continuous fibrillations will stop.

If not, they will consider more serious treatment. More invasive surgery.

We are hoping for her heart to recover on its own without any additional surgery. If you feel so inspired, please include that in your prayers.

We have heard of many people praying--people who love Mom and haven't seen her in years. We are so grateful for them. We are so grateful to know that we are not alone in our concern and love and adoration for her.

Thank you.

  3. Elise, I feel for you! I know how much your mom means to me and I am not her daughter. You are amazing in handling this so well. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do. You and your family have been in my prayers!

  4. You are Sooo not alone. I thought of her everywhere I went today. When I passed by La Hacienda because that was where we last lunched together, when I pulled my glasses out of my purse - she gave me the cutest glass case for my birthday two years ago-, and when I was fielding laundry. My kitchen wash cloths are betsy's little crocheted works of art. I love her so much and know that if anyone can pull through this - it is her. We will lunch again soon. I know it.

  5. Eise, My heart goes out to you and your family. Your mother has been a great friend over the years. We have been having so much fun talking about old times lately and laughing. She really knows how to make me laugh. We were planing to go to the Temple this Wednesday. I am going for both of us. I know that is what Betsy would want me to do. If there is anything I can do for you and your family please let me know.

  6. We are praying for your Mom and your family. Larry Johns said your mom's name was put on the prayer rolls at the Seattle Temple. Many prayers are being said.

  7. This is what I was just about to post about--I'll add to other comments sections. I believe you can call any temple and ask for a name to be added to the prayer rolls. So in addition to your prayers, call or go to the temple in your district (not every temple on the planet-yours is enough!) and have her name added.
