So. I haven't been to see her yet. But Brittany and Heber went. Brittany washed her hair, Mom got up to go to the bathroom, and she seems able to read your notes a little!
If any of you want to comment directly to my mom, you can do so by commenting on this post. (For those of you who have done so thus far, I have already printed your comments for her, but you are more than welcome to post more.)

Finally, don't feel obligated. I assure you that she feels the strength of your prayers. We all do.
Elise, we are thinking of Betsy and praying for her continued recovery. It occurred to me that even though I talk to Brad a lot about you I haven't told you how much we love you and how we are praying for you also. You're the best girl/daughter/daughter-in-law/mother in the whole world and we love you very much.
ReplyDeleteYes! Out of bed - good sign. About washing the hair, you gotta feel better having that done.,,,BUT, need I remind you, You still look gorgeous, Betsy! I just wish you felt that way too. Be patient and be a good patient as well. With the Lord's help, the doctors will get this all straightened out. Wish I could hug you and tell you how much I love you.

Tell Betsy she's gone "viral". She is Facebook, Blogs, and I don't know what else. But, I do know that many people she knows, and many she does not know, are praying for her. Reassure her that her brothers and sister are thinking of her constantly and pulling for her. We are also aware of the concerns of her immediate family and are trying our best to support them. Hang in there, Betsy.
ReplyDeleteI am Lisa Jameson's sister and Elder Worthen's mother. We have emailed just a little, but want you to know you are in our prayers, and our thoughts are with your family. We wish you all the best!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Elise, for the service you are providing by keeping your blog updated. It means so much! I've been able to direct a number of sisters in the stake to it for the latest information.
Betsy, your absence is keenly felt among Suzanne, Rachel, and me. We send our love and the love of the sisters in the stake, which we feel constantly through their inquiries and well wishes. We pray for your continued improvement!

Betsy:
ReplyDeleteI love and think about you all day it seems. My children have taken to include you and "your heart" in their prayers each night. They've asked Heavenly Father to "help your heart make good choices". At least that's how I explained it to them in the beginning. We will continue to pray and think about you and your family. Please know how much we care.
Thanks to Elise for keeping us all informed.
With love,
Kimberly Mac Donagh

I will convey some words to let you know that the entire Johns' family (extending to the far reaches of Guatemala where Mike and Paty are) are aware, concerned, and praying for Betsey and your entire family. My mom is something of a computer illiterate, but we have all kept one another current and praying for all of you. We all hold your family in the utmost love and respect and pray fervently that she will stabilize, strengthen, and recover. Sending lots of hugs and love.

Betsy,
ReplyDeleteYour will and determination is amazing! I have learned so much from you in the time that I have known you. The one thing that has affected my life the most is that in order to have inspiration or revelation, you have to know something first! Every time I worked with you on a project and you would talk about your vision you always talked about something you had read from the Ensign or scriptures that resulted in your inspiration. I realized that if I want to receive answers or be inspired then I have to gain more knowledge so that the inspiration can come to me or so I can recognize the answer. Ever since then (which was when we went to camp together 3 years ago), I have read more Ensign articles than ever before, and the choices I have made are a result of that.
Thank you for your example and friendship. The hymn "Each Life That Touches Ours for Good" epitomizes how I feel about the influence you have had on me.
You are the BEST!!!
Love,
Hil
Betsy, Bets, Bess, Neighbor, Friend,
ReplyDeleteOur continued prayers are with you and your sweet family. It's so good to hear of even the smallest improvements. We are anxiously awaiting the BIG ones, too!
I can't wait to be able to talk to you personally and tell you I KNOW YOUR BROTHER!! What a fun discovery. We'll get to that later.
I know how strong you are, how loved you are, how needed you are. What a blessing it has been for me to see the love of your family for you. You are truly blessed.
I miss you. Hurry home.
With lots of love and concern,
Karen
My Dear Friend,
ReplyDeleteYou and your wonderful family have been in our constant thoughts and prayers. I look so forward to speaking with you, but until then, know how much I value your friendship and love you and your family. Take it easy (which is difficult for you) and continue to get better!
Much love,
Tonja
We send our love and prayers--and gratitude that we are blessed to know you and yours and have your influence in our lives.

Hi Betsy! This is Debbie... the roommate you had before Karl, remember? haha
ReplyDeleteI wrote your name on a slip of paper 2 weeks ago, and put it on my fridge, because I think I forgot to send you a Christmas card this year, and that was to remind me to do it. Your name is still there. You can be sure I will send it now!
I LOVE YOU! I am who I am today in large part because of your influence and that of your family.
I promise I won't forget the card ever again. :)
all my love and prayers, Debbie.
I can't tell you how many times I look at this a day looking for updates! I am so happy to see that you are doing better. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, along with the rest of the Anderson clan's! We all love you!

Hi Betsy, I am in the F2 ward and I hope you know we are all praying for you! I'm so glad you are improving. You are a beautiful woman with a beautiful family. The first time I realized who you were, was when you spoke in our R.S. at our ward conference this past fall. I absolutely loved what you had to say and I love the wonderful spirit you brought to the meeting. So positive- just what I needed! Keep on truckin'! We love you!
ReplyDeleteBetsy,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that you are healing. I have a brother about your age who had this happen to him at age 36. He has a defibrulator as you now have. I know we have only met once, but I was so impressed by your kindness and warmth. You are graceful and able to set people at ease. For that I will always hold you in high regard. I pray that you make full and speedy recovery.

Betsy,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know that my family and I are sincerely mindful of and prayerful for you and your family during this challenging time.
I have only had the privilege of meeting you on two occasions, but I was very impressed with the great instrument in the Lord's hands that you were to bless my life and those of many others. Thank you for your wonderful example and for all of your great service!
May the Lord bless you and be with you!
Sincerely,
Amy Price and family
Betsy,
ReplyDeleteI have not talked to you in years, but when I heard what had happened, my heart sunk. I have been following Elise's blog daily. My whole family has been praying for you and your family during this difficult time. We all send our love from Gig Harbor, WA and pray for a quick recovery as well as an easy adjustment to what the next days may bring.
With Love,
Lisa Schrader (however, you would remember me as, Lisa Potucek) :)
Betsy, I am so grateful for modern technology where I can express to you my love and concern. You have been in my prayers every hour of every day since I heard the news. I immediately saw your smiling laughing face, and I was so sad. It is such a joy to read that things are improving. I know the Lord is mindful of you! I am so grateful that I know you. I keep going back to our visit in Kroger right before Thanksgiving. You have a way of helping people feel so special with your eyes and your laughter. I told my sister in law several time what a wonderful person you are. I will continue to pray for you and your family. I am hope to see you and give you a big fat hug very soon. Love you Besty!!! Amber
ReplyDeleteKarl and Betsy,
ReplyDeleteWow, aren't we grateful prayers are answered. Just got off the phone with Aunt Lavon and couldn't believe what I was hearing! First of all you are way to young and beautiful! Not to mention so important to so many people. You will be in our prayers as you continue to recover. Keith and Kriss
I can almost hear your laugh, Betsy. Hang in there; you are in our prayers. You look beautiful!

I knew your mom about a hundred years ago back in Bellevue. Let her know that the Kramer family is thinking and praying for her to get well. Thoughts and prayers to your entire family.

Elise-first of all Thankyou so much for keeping us informed. I grew up with your mom and dad and the Estes and Winters families and know and adore grandma Glennda and Grandpa Estes. What an amazing family you have and despite the circumstances which have allowed us all to know you-it is so tender to read all of your posts. Your mom and dad have always been great people and it's very apparent they raised lovely people. We pray for Betsy's recovery everyday. I was wondering if you could send me your parents home address-I have a book I would like to send her. My email address is wheatley.Lisa@gmail.com and my maiden name is Lisa Bagley.
