Helpful tip.

If you have a two year old, it might be a good practice to open your oven and check it thoroughly before turning it on.

Otherwise, you may open the oven to put in dessert, and find a rack full of melting kitchen accessories.

The good news is, I think our can opener is still usable. Everybody cheer.

  2. When I was little, I decided to play Hansel and Gretel. I was the witch. Those two cabbage patch kids are still a little scorched, but they made it. I still remember my mom: What's that smell...?

  3. Oh geez. We bought an oven lock 3 years ago when Ryan kept pulling the oven open, and then falling straight back with the oven door, slamming the back of his head on the ground (he was 9 months old). I thought we bought it for HIS safety ... little did I know that it saved US from melted utensils, too. It now ranks on the top 10 list of Best-Things-I-Ever-Spent-Five-Dollars-On.

    ps- I love Claire.

  5. Little did I know my Mom stores things in the oven sometimes. I preheated hers and melted the lid to her 9x13 pan. Sad.
