Laughin' at Clouds

You know the adage, "When it rains it pours?" I used to have a hard time relating to that. Because in Washington it just mostly drizzles. Constantly. No pouring. But whoever coined that phrase hailed from Carlsbad because that is exactly what happens here.

A single rain in this city causes street floods which last for hours. In some places, the water is six inches deep. And the lightening storms (which accompany the majority of rainfalls) are nothing short of spectacular. Brad and I sit in camp chairs on our front porch (yes, very white-trash-like) watching the scenes.

I love the rain. I love the smell of rain. And so during the last storm, Grace, Claire, and I twirled in the downpour. We had so much fun.
We had so much fun that at the next rain, Brad took a turn.

  4. My all-time favorite photo for sure is the last one of Brad holding Grace. Be sure to blow that one up huge. It's darling. I love huge rainstorms and it's not white-trash-like to sit on the porch and watch a storm. One of the things we're looking forward to the most -- if we move to San Antonio -- are the awesome thunderstorms!

  5. I can't believe it's Claire you're holding in the first picture. She looks thinner and like she has a dimple in her chin. Does she?

Can hardly wait to see you guys again.

  7. Very adorable pictures! You are such a cute family. On another note, I'm definitely gonna read The Millionaire Next Door. I have always heard it was a good book, and you and Elke have convinced me to read it. It sounds like the "safer" way to become financially independent. Robert Kiyosaki is more about taking risks and being bold, but I'm pretty wussy. Anyway, I'm excited to read it and see what its all about.
