A simple equation.

My parents have had a stressful year. In case you didn't know, my mom played dead at the beginning of this year.

That. Plus:

  • Death of mother/mother-in-law
  • Downstairs water damage (from interior fire sprinkler malfunction)
  • A dozen broken windows (due to hailstorm)
  • Severe roof damage (from later tornado)
  • Prematurely torn off roof (from roofers who eagerly started ripping up the roof of the wrong house and then didn't have the supplies to re-roof)
  • Upstairs water damage to carpet, attic, things inside attic, bedrooms (due to storm occurring after roof had been ripped up by roofers and then insufficiently waterproofed)
= PTSD.

  1. WHAT! This is the most stressful post ever! That roofing company better pay for EVERYTHING! I'm so sorry.

  2. What a year. I am fighting myself to not wallow in the stress of moving across the country. Sheri Dew quotes President Packer in her book If Life Were Easy, It Wouldn't Be Hard when he said, "Life will not be free from challenges, some of them bitter and hard to bear. We may wish to be spared all the trials of life, but that would be contrary to the great plan of happiness, 'for it must needs be that there is an opposition in all things' (2 Nephi 2:11). This testing is the source of our strength."

I love you and know you can do anything! You are such a wonderful example to me and a dear friend. :)
